the dreaded question

by Orlando Enrique Fiol <ofiol@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Nov 14, 2005 at 10:10 PM

Hi all. I know I might be treading on thin ice with this question, but
I'm running out of ideas and need some help. I'm a 33 yeas old musician
and poet who's been overweight since childhood. I live a pretty
sedentary life for many reasons including congenital blindness and
moderate geographical isolation. Basically, it's undeniable at this
point that I've gained weight because my clothes don't fit. I'm
physically in worse shape than before and it seems that anything I eat
goes directly to my abdominal protruberance. As for "diets," I've tried
counting and watching calories, fat, carbs, etc., and I'm sure many of
you know how food can become a love/hate obsession under those
cir***stances. I'm basically looking to change my eating habits or
lifestyle creatively such that I can still enjoy food without feeling
deprivation or hunger. Briefly, I like spicy and/or well seasoned
foods, don't tend to go for rich dairy based foods, am fond of nearly
all fruits and vegetables and eat meat. For years, I've been studying
how people in different cultures eat, thinking they could teach me much
more than the stereotypically supersized American model.

So, any ideas?

Thanks,
Orlando
