Hey Guys,
You might wanna check out CSI New York this evening as it involves a
woman of size causing the death of her partner from love making. I guess
it's a death caused by suffocation; but my concern is how this will be
****trayed in terms of the bigotry and so on that surrounds issues of size
acceptance, etc, etc, etc. Now from what I've been told, she supposedly
leaves the scene, which of course is a problem with anybody involved in
this sort of thing; however due to the nature of the subject matter, I
find it hard to be objective in that it's not going to be politicized as
some "freakish disgusting act", or you put your own derogatory label on
it.
I happen to like the CSI series, but I certainly will have a problem
and will respond accordingly if it's played out in the way most mainstream
programming has been done in recent years, being completely prejudiced
against people of size, and, they'll stop at nothing to insure that this
sort of hatred and mean-spirited attitude is perpetuated into the
ridiculous frenzy that it is. I would urge anyone who gives a crap about
anything to not let this slip if a negative connotation is presented in
this episode. Don't be nice about it either. We've put up with a lot of
crap over the years, and I think we've bent over backwards trying to
accommodate, appease, and in some instances, we've given in where we
should never have done so. Yeah it's hard work, but nothing worthwhile has
come to anybody without putting effort where it's needed. Those of us
who've been out there trying to get these attitudes turned around have
done a great job, but the voices need to multiply a thousan!
d fold and be much louder and far more demanding. We're just as much
consumer oriented as the next person; we help pay those bills so that CBS,
NBC, ABC, PBS, or whatever other media outlet can have their fun producing
cheap entertainment with big payoffs.
Let's not let another day go by. Tell your friends who are both people
of size and/or people who aren't but are sup****tive of individual liberties
and freedoms to get involved and be heard. My point is this, and I'll say
it until the day I pass on; the same people who demand that we sup****t all
these so called compassionate causes for mankind are the same bunch who
will spit in your face because you're a person of size or you're
associated with it because you have a spouse or friend/partner, etc.
