Updating on things

by Siobhan Perricone <morgannalefey@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Nov 2, 2004 at 12:50 AM

Well, it's been a while since I've posted much about my life and what's up
with me, so I thought I'd let you all know how things are going.

We're finally building our dream house. Our builder started construction
in June, and moving day is November 23rd. (Here's our public set of photos
of the construction:

I got (finally) diagnosed with PCOS in early July, and I have a referral
to
an endocrinologist on the 18th of this month. I'm still working through a
fair amount of anger at how long it has taken to actually get this
diagnosis (I've had sufficient symptoms to make the diagnosis for nearly
15
years), and I'm also fairly irked at my primary cary physician insisting
that there isn't really anything else that can be done for me (which is
actually contrary to what I've been reading about PCOS on various web
sites). I'm hoping the endocrinologist takes seriously my desire to
really
address the androgens in my blood stream that are responsible for so much
of the crappy health I've had (there are androgen blockers now, I want to
do *more* than just take progesterone, I want my thick hair back, or at
least for my hair to be less weak and brittle, I want I want I want... Ok,
I don't expect miracles, but I expect more than this).

I'm concerned because the next health problem on the horizon for me if we
don't deal with the PCOS is high blood pressure and heart disease. I've
already gotten the diabetes and the obesity...

On the whole I'm doing good, though. My diabetes is being controlled with
diet and exercise (no meds), and I am still fine with being a beautiful
fat
woman. Frank and I are getting along well and working on getting closer.
I'm down to one cat right now, but after we get into the new house we'll
get getting a kitten and a puppy to drive her nuts. :) I'm hoping she'll
be ok. Most of her life (the first ten years) she had other cats around,
but the last three years she's been the only cat. We'll see how it goes.

Anyway, that's a short update.

How are the rest of you doing?
