Hi,
I'm on a roll here -- I think I'll double today's SSFAM traffic.
My husband is very sedentary person and he wants to get more active,
but it's been hard finding something that he enjoys.
Well, yesterday we went water walking. And he loved it! He'd never
learned to swim and even as a child spent little time in the water, so
he'd been very hesitant to try this (our doctor urged it). But he
ended up enjoying the sensation of the water and the buoyancy made
movement so much easier.
The place we go to (part of an occupational therapy center) is only
available limited hours, but he's already talking about our next visit
on Wednesday.
I _think_ we'll be able to keep this up. And hopefully build up
better tone and stamina. Lately I've been thinking we're much too
young to feel this darn old!
Plus, did I mention it's fun? :-> Especially when the tape one of
the regulars was listening to began playing "I Feel Pretty" and we did
a little sychronized swim movement. (OK, we're easily entertained.)
