NEVER hide your Love away.
Kate The Eldest and I stopped by the local hospital yesterday late in
the afternoon to see Jean.
On our way out after a good visit (which included homemade slow-cooked
chicken stroganof and a piece of rosemary bread) I mentioned to Jean
that 'tomorrow' would be my 4 year anniversary for quitting smoking.
She was thrilled.
She then told us of a chain-smoking boss she had worked for. She said
to him 'You know, you should quit smoking.' He said 'Fine. Hide my
cigarettes then'.
I asked 'Did he quit?' Jean laughed and said 'Yes.' I patted her on
the hand and said 'You're a brave lady. If I had been him I would've
likely torn the plaster off the walls looking for them.'
Jean laughed with an ear-to-ear smile -- her whole body shook from
laughing so hard.
You might think 'What a great Gift'. It was a Great Gift -- for all of
us.
NEVER hide your Love away.
