I see my QuitBuddy Robin is here (Sept 2nd), me (Sept 4th). So is Julia
(Sept 15th). You can tell we are all excited about becoming OOF's. I know
I've been excited since January.
Even after almost 5 years we show up in AS3 to reminise about those first
few days and weeks and to cheer on all the quitters. I'm sure we all agree
we wouldn't be getting our ****ny new OOF's if it hadn't been for AS3.
Quitbuddies.org played a major role for me too. So much time spent looking
at the pictures, the dogs, the cats, the FAQs. Staring at my meter during
a
crave, watching the seconds tick.
It doesn't matter how you get quit, just do yourself the best thing ever
and get quit and stay quit. Whenever I had a crave or was tempted, I just
thought of AS3 and how much I didn't want to confess "I blew it" - so I
never had that first puff.
I was lucky to be able to do it cold turkey but I had spent the few weeks
before I quit practising to be a serial quitter. The im****tant thing is to
never quit trying. Eventually you will get it right and find freedom from
a
dirty, filthy, stinking addiction that will kill you.
I just climbed a ladder so I can wave madly to Robin & Julia. Waves from
Arizona. In September you can find us in the Newbie OOF hot tub but until
then I expect we will hover in AS3.
Good wishes to all quitters. One day at a time.
Hugs, Maggie
