Debbie, first of all, congratulations on your 10 year mark. You have
prevailed over the worst addiction in the world of addictive
behaviour. Each of your steps, I stepped too, so I know how much it
took for you to prevail.
I would love to give you a parade up and down Fifh Avenue. Hey,
kiddo, that's the parade of heros and you are hero.
I take great pride that my beloved geriatric Mrs. Mimi Katz, has never
lived in a smoking home. She is an old lady cat now, while I am still
not smoking and still not taking note of that. It's just a way of
life.
Tomorrow I will be entertaining for a week an old friend from long
ago, back when I smoked two packs and then some every day. I don't
think she smokes. Maybe she never has. But when she called and said
that she would like to visit me in NYC, I was all for it. We have
been plotting out the art galleries, restaurants, shopping places she
would liketo visit. I am not sure, but I think t hat New York City
has enacted some pretty stringent laws about smoking in public.I
I am so glad that I did not have to wait for the city to make up my
mind to quit.
I give thanks to this group and all the brave quitters who hang out
here.
