Well, it was a couple of days ago, really; hard to do a lot on a work day,
so today's the day we're having friends in to celebrate it!
Thirty-two years together; twenty six of 'em married. How is that
possible?
I am absolutely blessed to have Marsha in my life.
The handful of you who have met her at AS3 get-togethers here or elsewhere
know what a delightfully positive, guile-free, no-bull**** woman she is.
How she's put up with me all this time is one of Life's Great Mysteries.
I fall in love with her over and over and over-- and all I have to do is
turn away a moment and then turn back...
We're having a couple of our favorite couples over, and I'm cooking
tonight.
Greek shrimp w/ tomatoes, garlic, parsley, white wine and feta cheese; a
creamy, lemon risotto w/ scallions; spinach salad w/ fresh mango, pine
nuts
and a blood orange/balsamic vinaigrette. To wash it down, great la****ngs
of
Retsina for those adventurous enough to try it, or some Casal Garcia--
slightly effervescent, dry, ****tuguese white wine-- for more timid
palates.
Dessert is assorted sorbets (Lemon, Mango, Cassis, Raspberry-- with fresh
fruit: Mangoes, Peaches, Blackberries, Blueberries, Strawberries.
Followed by plenty of sighing, burping and (hopefully) surreptitious
farting.
I'm taking a little break in between doing my mise-en-place and getting
prepped to cook.
This is a good day. I've needed one for a while, now.
Strength to you all!
Jef.
