FWD, +1 day.

by "Adam" <adds21@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jul 7, 2008 at 09:47 AM

I'm an hour away from 8 days, and I feel good! I found days 3, 4 and 5 to
be pretty difficult, but (for me at least), the weekend (day 6 and 7) was
relatively easy. Might have simply been that I've been keeping myself
busy,
or it might have been that I was expecting day 7 to be bad from some of
the
things I've read (although I know we're all different).

Either way, that's FWD, and although I obviously still think about smoking

all the time (well, nearly!), I'm really trying to be positive about it.
I
don't even think they're cravings as such, it really is just habit. It's
almost funny the tricks your mind can play on you, I've found it goes like

this:

Mind: Go on, have a smoke
Me: No, I don't smoke
Mind: Go on, it'll be nice
Me: No, I don't want one
Mind: Okay, you win
Me: Hurrah, I beat it. I'll have a smoke to celebrate

(not that I have one of course).

I've also found that I'll be sitting on the sofa at home, and will quite
often half get up to go out for a smoke without thinking about it (I
haven't
smoked inside the house since my son was born, which has probably helped
my
quit). Personally, I see that as a positive because it's only happened in

that last few days. I think the reason is that I'm not thinking about not
smoking every minute of every day anymore, so now and again I almost
forget
I'm not smoking. That can only be a good thing, as long as I catch myself

in time! (which I'm sure to as I obviously don't have any smokes around
the
house anymore).

I hardly dare say it, but I'm almost getting sure I'll beat this thing.
I'm
still only thinking about a day at a time (I may smoke tomorrow, I may
not),
but I can now almost let myself think about next week, or even next month
without smoking... We'll see.
