Hi, AZ. This day and what it means has been much on my mind all this
week. I recently got the first DVD of the HBO series "John Adams"
from Netflix. It was quite by coincidence that I should have it at
home now, but I watched it yesterday and was very moved by it. Laura
Linney, a very fine actress, plays Abigail Adams, while Paul Giamatti
plays John Adams. There are two more DVDs still to come. Today the
History Channel is showing an enormous approximation of the entire
Revolutionary War. While I am not overly patriotic, and I understand
that sometimes our country does things that make me ashamed, I am
still very much an American and proud of it.
Thanks for reminding me of that. And, as they say these days, thank
you for not smoking.
