Well, Stephanie, I tried to get Mrs. Mimi Katx to watch this, but as
soon as it was on the screen she disappeared. Usually she is
reclining on the left-hand side if my desk, her head resting on my
hand. Makes it kind of hard to type.

Hey, I don't even have a fish tank for her to practice in. And I am
not allowed to take her to the local pool. She will barely let me
brush her tangled matted hair balls out from behind her ears. No way
will she let me dunk her in the bathtubs.

But that reminds me of the time when she was new. Six months old,
when I brought her home from the Bide-a-Wee. I had filled the
bathtub, preparing for a long, fragrant soak, and left the bathroom
door open. Being curious, as all young things are, she decided to try
it out.

The next thing I knew was a frantic wet kitten, da****ng around the
apartment looking for shelter from the big, bad bathtub. As soon as I
could persuade her that if she just sat on t he windowsill for a
while, with the sun ****ning in, she would be all right.

Ten years later, she is still kind of leery of the bathroom, which is
just as well. But in all other respects, we have worked out a
peaceable kingdom for ourselves. Or should I say queendom. We each
have our habits and many of them involve the participation of both of
us. She knows exactly when food time is coming. I know exactly what
kinds of food she likes. She always hides under the bed when my son
Chris, a huge hulking former football player, who used to own a silly
playful Keeshund, named Keesue, and would bring him along for weekend
visits.

Mimi could either hear their approach or smell them. She always ran
to hide under my bed when they came to visit. Which was often.
Especially in baseball season. Chris always gets season tickets to
the Yankees games. So he would arrive; drop off the dog and his
weekend baggage. Mimi would disappear.

Well, poor old Keesu died of some kind of cancer a few years ago. But
Mim still runs for cover as soon as she hears Chris in the hall.

BTW, Mrs. Mimi Katz has reappeared on my desk as I type this. She
occupies the entire left side of the desk and she commandeers my left
typing hand. So now I must call it a day and close down. Sometimes
when she rests her head on the keyboard, I get all kinds of strange
websites and messages.

So that's just a sampling of life with Mrs. Mimi Katz. So nice of you
to remember her.
