There's been a lot of debate in recent days about NRT, lack of NRT,
CT, not so CT, Allen Carr, etc. Actually, it's a debate that's been
going on for some times. Are they valid quit methods? Do they "drag
out" quitting? Etc. etc.
I've stayed out of this for a variety of reasons. Mainly, I'm worried
about maintaining my own quit, not a lot of hash and rehash over the
methods used or not used. And I'm working real hard on not feeding the
trolls, also, ever since I got called a liar in a thread not long ago
and it really bothered me. I guess I need to grow a thicker skin. This
is Usenet, after all, as Sue likes to say.
But here is my bottom line, FWIW: It's all about not putting another
****stick in your mouth. Period. And to me, it really doesn't matter
how you accomplish that. NRT? Sure? CT? Great. Allen Carr? Right on.
Having an army of trained monkeys strap you down and not allow you
access to cigarettes? Fantastic. It really doesn't matter to me as
long as you stop smoking.
No matter what our personal beliefs about the "best" or "worst" method
might be, I would hope that we are all united around that common goal:
not smoking.
My two cents, if anyone cares.
Love
Ashley
