just blabbing this morning...putting off and procrastinating on some
work that I'd rather do...LATER!
I have some faith that my *new* furniture that I purchased from a
friend is going to air out (eventually)...I bought the furniture as a
set, but, brought it over to my house in pieces (first the sofa came,
then the chair and ottomon)...saved up some more money and finally, a
week or so later, paid her off and then brought the loveseat (final
piece) to the house.
I'm kind of glad that I did it like this...because what I really
noticed was that...the LOVESEAT smelled MUCH stronger of smoke than
did the sofa, chair and ottoman...I THINK...because possibly the smoke
smell is eventually wearing off???
I purchased a product at WalMart called Odo-Ban:

I'm pretty pleased with it. I sprayed the heck out of the
furniture...and it seems to have made a significant improvement in the
stale smoke smell...I can still faintly smell smoke in the furniture,
but, not nearly as strong as when it first came in the door. I
believe that, and the combination of fresher indoor air without smoke
has helped immensely.
I doubt the cigarette odor will ever be completely gone, but, I
believe I can live with the furniture now. The OdoBan has a nice,
pleasant smell (I think)...nothing perfumy at all. Smells faintly of
eucalyptus. A nice scent.
Either that, or, as my husband says, "we've just gotten accustomed to
the smell" :(

(can't post my meter...posting from work...but know that all is
well...I'm somewhere around 10months, 1 week+)
