quit day (pls don't kill fire me)

I was contemplating if I should post an E-mail or not. I considered 
Stephanie's
advice and decided to post it as I think with all the sup****t you have
given me you deserve to know what is going on with my quit.

I had a meeting with our health promotion team at work on Wed. It went
okay, 
but I
am very disappointed. They set my quit date for 14 July 2008. It is a long
time for preparation. ---hmm what was I expecting that they just tell me
go
ahead and stop smoking today?

They  don't want me to reduce cigarettes either but rather record when and
why I smoke. If I reduce the smokes on my own they can't figure out the
triggers and change the behavior Next week I have an appointment with my
doctor and will be put on Chantix. Apparently this drug is a new drug here
in Canada. Then, it will take two weeks to allow the drug to work.
Meanwhile, I will learn new behavior skills. Until than I am supposed to
be
very patience.

I also have a choice of taking NRT, but they didn't recommended it as my
attempt to quit smoking is not so much the physical addiction but the
behavior part which needs to be changed. On the end it is my choice and
they
will sup****t me either way.

It feels so odd to provide sup****t meanwhile I smoke and yet I have a lot 
knowledge and experience from my previous quit. I still would like to
stick 
around and provide sup****t.
