10 years

by kg <klausgawehns@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > May 30, 2008 at 04:58 AM

Hello, group.

This is Klaus Gawehns and I quitted smoking 10 years ago at the age of
40 using a cold turkey approach, after having smoked for nearly 25
years 30 to 40 cigarettes per day on average. I've been reminded of
this milestone by the current keeper of the list.

The first few months were difficult and this group was a big help for
me in this time. But then it got easier rapidly. For me the 2nd year
was nearly as easy as the 10th. Had I known this (Of course I had been
told so, but who believes the old folks?) I could have quitted much
earlier in my life. Several of my earlier attempts failed after but a
few weeks.

So, don't give up too soon!

Good luck!
