OT -- Some Updates

by Marvin The Paranoid Android <marvinparanoidandroid@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > May 20, 2008 at 12:27 PM

Hello!

Got back yesterday (late) from the road trip home.

Upon arriving in the house I found that our roof is leaking where the
sunroom meets the main part of the house. The sunroom was an addition
and is attached perpendicular to the main house. I suspect it's the
valley at that juncture that's the problem ... it's been packed and
repacked in a rather half-assed way with roofing compound. Time to get
it done properly I suspect ... sigh.

And I also now have ceiling repairs along with getting the roof fixed
.... ****. **** **** ****.

---

We saw my nephew twice over the weekend. It was quite a shock. He'll
be 23 this week. I think the day we arrived (Saturday) was a really
busy day for him. He was sleeping when we got there in the afternoon.
His mood has changed for a bit for the worse ... although on Sunday he
seemed a bit more at ease. I think there were just too many visitors on
Saturday for him to deal with -- lots of chatter happening. He's unable
to turn his head with the 'halo' (neck brace) on.

My kids were absolutely brilliant. They were thrilled (a gross
understatement) to see him. My youngest was pretty upset (with me) that
we didn't go back the third day to see him ... I just couldn't do it
since I was beat and we needed to get home. Both my kids are outstanding.

My eldest stated that she now wants to become a nurse. She's been my
right-hand person in helping out around the house and when I'm not home
helps Mom with reminders for meds and shots when she's not well.

We made it out to the cemetery to pay a visit to my Mom & Dad and
Grandparents (maternal) and Steve, my brother in law, who died way too
early in his life (he's the father of my yoga teaching niece, who's an
absolutely wonderful person too), and Andrew, my nephew who was 4 months
when he passed away from heart problems. It might seem kind of like a
melancholy exercise but I think it makes us all appreciate Life and one
another a whole bunch more plus it adds some depth and background to my
kid's lives -- all of these wonderful people were gone before my kid's
were born.

My youngest has a great big heart which she wears on her sleeve, so to
speak. I love her dearly, even when she says she hates me ... lol ...
in Terms Of Love :-)

I'm expecting a busy week at work this week. Yard work went nowhere
this weekend ... I'll have to catch up thru the week, weather
permitting. The upcoming weekend is looking good so it should be the
official pool opening, with luck.

As a result of all the things happening in Life these days, my rate of
posting will likely drop off a bit.

That's it.

Cheers & Big Hugs,
Marvin :-)
