now i've never found wet pouches uncomfortable but it never ceases to
amaze me that when after a shower i empty my pouch dry the flap and
pat the cover (dansac nova) dry with toilet tissue, get dressed and
within 10minutes i find a wet mark showing through on my trousers.
i've become so accustomed to this after being an ileostomate for about
4 years that i always wear my ****rts on the outside of my trousers to
cover the wet spot. fortunately i live in the tropics am semi retired
and dont have to bother too much with other folk's perceptions of my
personal attire but it amazes me that no matter how well i think i'm
drying the pouch the blasted thing is still wet enough to show through
externally. it becomes a bit deceptive sometimes because the quality
control on these dansac pouches is so bad that it has happened that
after i have applied a fresh pouch, got on my bicycle and gone for a
ride, noticed the damp spot, thought 'hangon this was a fresh pouch'
put my fingers down there to investigate and found the blasted pouch
has had a tear at its base and is in fact leaking.
nevertheless the other responses to this problem have given me a few
ideas, thanks.
