Re: Soft Flex Barrier Rings

hi, i have seen some old posts regarding barrier rings. i am wondering
whether
these (hollister, or eakin, or coloplast, etc.) would be helpful with
appliances
for someone (me) who has a colostomy. can you place a one piece pouch
over the barrier ring? or is the ring to thick? would it eliminate the
need for
paste around the pouch opening (or around the stoma)? i was having
diarrhea and
the paste was not doing the trick. loose, fluid stool was seeping
under the pouch
and irritating skin. paste was not preventing the fluid from going
under the pouch.
any suggestions or personal experiences would be helpful. --ralph p.
