no a hernia is not "normal" but it is common, many folks don't have
hernias,

when you wear it is up to you and your doc. I wear a hernia belt even
though I don't have a hernia because it helps hold my pouch and is more
comfortable, I wear it 24/7 (but not the same one)
I hernia does not "heal" on it's own. it can only be fixed surgically.

it protects the stoma from injury in hard contact s****ts such as boxing or
football. or in s****ts that has the potential for impacts or in jobs which
may have a potential for impact to the area.
