To me, this sounds more like it is connected with her diabetes, rather
than her colostomy. I regularly eat red meat (although not as much as I
used to -- but that's NOT related to my colostomy, just changing taste),
I have coffee every morning, and I eat ANYTHING else I want. I have had
my colostomy since June, 2000 and I can honestly say that it hasn't
prevented me from doing or eating anything I want. There were a few
rough spots at first, but no longer.
It's worth checking out, because diabetes can certainly cause many
dietary changes.
BTW, I turned 76 last October...
