International Conference in October to Bring Awareness to Promising
Treatment for HIV/AIDs, Cancer, Autism, Multiple Sclerosis, and other
Auto-Immune Conditions.DN
On October 11, 2008, physicians and LDN patient advocates will gather at
Mayer Auditorium on the Health Sciences Campus of the University of
Southern
California in Los Angeles, California at the Fourth Annual Low Dose
Naltrexone Conference (Keith Administration Building), 1975 Zonal Avenue,
Los Angeles, CA) 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. (http://www.lowdosenaltrexone.org)
“LDN remains largely unknown in the U.S,” says Sunny Sedlock, coordinator
of
the Fourth Annual LDN Conference, “Pharmaceutical companies remain
uninterested in LDN, perhaps because of naltrexone's status as a generic
drug and LDN's extremely low cost to the patient. The aim of the LDN
Conference is to have many more patients know about LDN so they can
discuss
this treatment with their physicians.”
Naltrexone was originally approved by the FDA in 1984 at the 50mg level
for
narcotics addiction. But around the world, physicians and researchers are
discovering that at much lower doses--most commonly in the 4.5mg
range--the
compounded medication, taken nightly, stimulates the immune system and
helps
the body fight off devastating diseases. LDN has no known harmful side
effects, and at an average price of well under $50 per month's supply, the
compound is very affordable.
The conference theme, "A Revolution In Research," reflects the strides
made
in LDN research and clinical trials in the past year. The confirmed
speakers:
Dr. David Gluck will present a brief review of the progress LDN has made
in
recent years;
Dr. Jill Smith, professor of gastroenterology at Pennsylvania State
University, will discuss her impressions of the second LDN clinical trial
in
the U.S., in which she studied the compound's effects on Crohn's disease;
Dr. Jaquelyn McCandless will discuss her achievements using LDN in
treating
childhood autism and re****t on her study in Mali, using LDN for HIV/AIDS.
Dr. Burt Berkson, a physician from Las Cruces, NM, will discuss the
remarkable results he is finding with the use of LDN for patients with
pancreatic cancer, non-hodgkins lymphoma, bowel cancer, and autoimmune
disease including rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus.
UK physician Dr. Tom Gilhooly will discuss his clinical trial in Scotland
on
urological effects of LDN in multiple sclerosis.
Pharmacist Dr. Skip Lenz will also present his impressions of LDN.
The conference is co-sponsored by:
- Irmat Pharmacy, New York City,
- Skip’s Pharmacy, Boca Raton, Florida,
- Wellness Pharmacy, Birmingham, AL, and
- Quinn’s Pharmacy, Ireland.
Registration is required, and a $50.00 elective donation is requested to
The
Ojai Foundation Africa Fund in sup****t of the HIV/AIDS Mali clinical
trial.
