So I had my meeting with the nutritionist at Shepherd Center. This was =
designed to be the same day as my Rutuxan treatment. The Center =
requires you to check in 30 minutes early and if you're late if to =
reschedule. I was once late to see my neurologist there by five =
minutes. And they rescheduled me for four months later. So I had no =
intent of being late for my nine o'clock infusion: my check-in was 8:00, =
so with the unreliability of my Medicaid trans****t vehicle, and the =
typical horrendous traffic for the morning commute in Atlanta, I =
scheduled the trans****t for 6 a.m.
the trans****t vehicle attendant wheels me off to check in. I check-in =
at about 8:15 a.m. so far so good. I gave the infusion room at about =
8:45 a.m. and the nurse starts to prep me for my infusion, taking my =
vitals, taking a blood sample, sticking me with an infusion ****t. Then =
she goes off to prepare my actual infusion. And discovers that I was =
scheduled inappropriately, and that I was scheduled three months early.
So there are apologies the whole way around, I got a meal voucher for =
lunch -- I hadn't eaten because of my expected infusion and was starving =
-- and I got to watch TV while awaiting the meeting with the =
nutritionist, for which my wife was joining me.
The nutritionist basically said to avoid constipating food, drink lots =
more water and have more fiber in my diet. She gave some good pointers, =
but nothing really astounding.
