Sounds like someone is drawing wrong conclusions, then. There are other
non-MS related health problems that make people suffer problems that SEEM
to
be MS but upon investigation are something else entirely. Eg, brother in
law
was losing the ability in one leg and had been getting pain in it that
would
come and go. The pain would last days and he would sleep fitfully because
of
it and thus become tired. It would go away for a bit and he would feel
better, almost normal and it would come on again eventually. Sounds
familiar
doesn't it? Well, he was on holidays and woke up early morning with
incredible pain in the leg, tried to get up and could fight through the
pain
to sit up in bed but tried to stand up and had no control of EITHER leg.
He
fell to the floor and that caused massive lower back pain. An ambulance
took
him to hospital where tests revealed he had bits growing into his spinal
chord from his spine all stemming from a heavy accident to his back some
25
years before that had him limping for weeks but seemed to get better with
no
consequences. They did a "laminectomy" I think it is called, removing the
spikes and after the spinal chord swelling went down, he had the ability
to
walk once more though the leg that had been going funny before took years
before it was OK enough for him to walk normally on and even nowadays
still
occasionally flips like a fish on dry land for no reason.

Wouldn't it be nice if researchers like that one did a bit more research
before letting out things like this?
