Has anyone tried personal air purifiers that you wear round your neck?
This one is expensive (£100 - must be getting on for US$200).. but if
they work, well... looks a lot less stupid than wearing a mask :os

AS150mm Personal Wearable Air Purifier
Helps destroy a wide variety of airborne pollutants, including:
viruses, dust and dust mites, mould, cigarette smoke, pet dander,
bacteria, pollen, toxic chemical fumes, and odours. ...This little
Air Supply is not an ioniser or an ozone machine. Rather it is a new
air decontamination device known as a ‘non' thermal ionic corona
discharge plasma purifier.
The Air Supply utilises this new technology to kill and control
airborne germs and toxic chemicals. It does this by emitting over 70
trillion ions per second internally to kill biological agents and
oxidise and deodorise many dangerous chemicals. The destruction of
airborne contaminants is self-contained within the corona discharge
unit Fresher, cleaner air is directed towards the mouth, nose and eyes
of the wearer at a rate of 50 feet per minute - approximately the same
airflow as normal breathing. Testing against cat allergens and smoke
by The Good Housekeeping Institute in the USA tested positive.
The Air Supply doesn't treat people, it treats the air people breathe.
It can help give you a breath of fresh air where and when you need it
most.
Features: The size of a pager Air Supply weighs just 2 ounces,
operates on a single lithium battery (supplied) which lasts 50 hours,
and is worn around your neck (neck cord supplied) or in a ****rt
pocket. Ozone output is less than .028 ppm. Colour: black.
