Hearing Voices

Why hasn't my husband been referred to a psychiatrist
or a neurologist?  This is the nagging that broke our
marriage.  I am pro-medicine and pro-biology for
mental illness.  His "best friend" and gang are into
bean sprouts and New Age cures. He has been shuffled around to 3
psychologists/social scientists, and family
therapists.   I know that the hanging
attempt was a result of withdrawal from his antidepressant
and i do not doubt that his dropping the meds was
responsible for the personality change which i have
been trying to figure out.

But now, I am back to my original position: hard-core
neurology, psychiatry position.  Get an MRI for head ba****ng
and take your drugz for clinical depression, and don't
withdraw suddenly.

OK -- we have now reached the point where
therapy has collected but not delivered.
I told the counsellor that my constant nagging was
that he needs to see a psychiatrist or psychopharmcologist,
or neurologist.  That's something to be considered and
not put aside.

Now -- he is hearing voices and music repeatedly!
This is a new symptom and a disturbing one at that.
It is an auditory hallucination,  which could be caused
by many brain disorders but very unlikely by his
lifestyle and need for partying with his pals.

This is supposed to be the decade of the brain.
