To All:
It's nice to see some posting activity.
Our son, Joshua, is FVIII deficient.
We've attended a New England Hemophilia Association four day summer family
camp the past few years. At one of the seminars a hemophilia specialist
mentioned that, over time, each individual hemophiliac is worth a huge
amount of financial income to the pharmaceutical firms. He thought that
this represented powerful, and little used, leverage for us as families,
and as individuals. We should speak to them when needed, they will listen.
Baxter instituted a factor mixing 'improvement' called The Baxter Jet.
It's pretty stupid, and I think it shows that they have more money than
brains. It eliminates the transfer needles when mixing, but the little
system has to be 100 times more expensive that three or four needles. It
may suffer the fate of all stupid ideas.
The only accidental sticks I've experienced have been with butterflies.
How do you tell if a butterfly is dull?
Thanks,
Allen
