Hi,
My last update was on 11/3. I've been on Nexium since then. I was also
taking Ranitidine. I did ok for a little while but then got worse. I
decided
to stop taking the Ranitidine. Things got even worse for a few days. But
then I started pretty steadily improving. Now I'm doing reasonably well.
I'm
able to eat pretty normally, and have gained my lost weight back.
The bad news is that my appeal to United Health Care to cover Nexium was
denied. So I'm having to buy it myself, which I'm doing through a Canadian
pharmacy. (It's one that the state of Minnesota endorses.) The cost is
$225
for 12 weeks. The pharmacy actually obtains the Nexium from Europe. It is
branded Nexium made by AstraZeneca. But it's not a capsule. It seems to be
a
cross between a tablet and a caplet. Exact words on the box are "Enterik
Kapli Pellet Tablet" "Proton Pompasi Inhibitoru". The invoice from the
pharmacy calls them "blister tablets". Also, they come in a box of 14,
that
contains 2 foil pacs of 7. You push out the individual tablets (sort of
like when you get Zithromax).
With the results I get from Nexium, I'm willing to pay the price. (If you
haven't read any of my earlier posts, Prilosec, Aciphex, and Protonix all
failed for me.)
