My aduiologist in fitting the Bernafon hearing aid did a test on the
computer which she said was for eliminating feedback. In this test I
had to have the hearing aids in my ear and she did adjustments on the
computer. These tests which bounced very loud and often sharp sounds
into my ear were very painful and extremely loud. I was worried that
these overlyloud sounds would damage my hearing further. I have never
had to have this test adjustment before with any other brand. Could
readers tell me what this test is for and is it necessary? Why do
some audiologists use this painful method and others not? Now that I
am returning the Bernafon hearing aids and trialing a different brand,
I hope I don't have to go through this again.
