Want to let the group know about the latest.
The Pho**** Naida BTE did not work for me and I could not understand
speech at all with them and not nearly as good as my old Starkey (in the
ear) aids.
So on Tuesday I was fitted with the Pho**** MicroPower IX. When I got
home, I could not stand the LOUD sound and was so loud, it hurt my ears
so I took them out and called my audiologist. She had me come in today
and we reduced the volume and she said it was a significant reduction.
We reduced the overall volume and both the high and low frequencies.
However, even with the volume turned down, I can not stand the harsh
sound. But I am willing to try for one week until my next appointment
the day after Labor Day.
I don't know what to tell her whether it's the output volume, the high
frequencies, or the low frequencies, or both. The sound is still pretty
harsh and not as good as I am used to with my Starkey aids.
Is it possible that Pho**** aids are not going to work for me or do I
need to keep trying with adjustments? We haven't had much luck so far.
