I'm pretty new to this group too, but everyone has been so kind. I
haven't come across the website you were on previously - mainly, I
suppose, because I deal with my grief by writing about it (in books
and articles) and speaking about it at events I'm invited to. We're
all different, but that's my way. I'd never tried *belonging* to an
online group before, but it's been good. My daughter died fourteen
years ago in what the police think was an act of manslaughter (rather
than murder). They wanted us to take out a private prosecution, but
we felt that it wouldn't bring her back and that we wanted to
concentrate on our other children. Now I've written the book telling
her story I feel at peace about that decision. But we stayed,
recently (on one of my speaking engagements) with a family whose
daughter was murdered. They have no such peace because, although the
murderer was imprisoned, he's now out and lives nearby. I can't
imagine how awful that must be. Sometimes knowing other people's
stories helps you to share yours. Mel Menzies
