Thanks, Judy. I might try the library if I can't buy a copy. I'm
terrible with books. They're like friends and I like to keep them.
Can't bear to hand them back when I finish reading them. They stay in
my mind and pop back with little memories when I need them. I haven't
had a chance to look on Amazon yet. My parents are quite elderly and
need quite a lot of sup****t. You can grieve as much for the living as
for those who've gone. My Dad has lost his sight (almost) and his
mind (but not enough not to know what he's lost). He says he just
wants to die. I asked him if he knows where he's going and he said
'to heaven I hope'. I asked him if God knew that (he's always said
he'd like to be a believer but can't quite believe). His reply was,
'I hope so. I talk to him all the time.' It made me cry. I'd rather
he left this life and went to be with God than went on as he is. Life
is so unbearable for him. Though many are kind, some people get very
impatient with him. I think of my daughter - it would have been her
birthday this month - and her child who's grown up without a mum.
She'd bring a smile to my Dad's face. Mel Menzies
