< no
but my mother tried to starve herself to death for a week in hopital
(she failed)
It takes 4 or 5 years to get over a bad event like this
but you can - the clouds have lifted from my head and heart now
It would be a good idea to talk with some police, fire ,ambulance men
about how they cope with similar situations
amongst sailors the traditon is to drink a whole bottle of whisky
You need to go through a process of mourning
so try a quiet time of thought or prayer each evening before going to bed
about half a bottle of wine would be ok (if you are not an alcoholic)
You have to desensitze the horror of the memory
I mourned my prematurely dead cousin in that tway sitting with a book
and a glass of wine
You actually have to remember in order to forget
it could have been much worse a dead child for example
(ambulance man's joke "Well at least they are easy to pick up")
sick humour also helps desensitize
Irish catholic and other cultures ahve an open coffin before the
funeral and it takes a little getting used to seeing a corpse
what upset you most?
the way he died or seeing hsi dead body?
take care
