> Cruciferous vegetables are just about never allergenic.
Allergenic is probably not the right word. Compounds in cruciferous
veggies, especially those which serve as natural pesticides, are
neutralized by Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor (AhR) mediated detoxification
pathway. After dioxin enters nerve cells, it hyperactives the detox
pathways resulting in cellular stress. Cruciferous veggies and citrus
are strong activator of the AhR. Dioxin is the strongest, but it can't
be detoxed, and results in long term hyperactivation. The
gastrointestinal tract has a large number of nerves. After exposure to
dioxin, crucifierous veggies can cause bloating and heartburn
sensation. Search www.pubmed.com for TCDD (a potent dioxin),
curciferous, brassica.
Dioxin also alters the immune system and damages the cardiovascular
system.
