for years i've had this problem in the hayfever season, of gagging..
but this is the first time i've found some triggers foods. Brown Rice,
Potatoes, Bananas(I have tended to have them in milk as a milkshake).
I think it could be the starch/sugar in them.. I do get sick of sugary
food, but not causing a gagging reaction. This may be a reaction to a
different form of sugar. I'm not diabetic though. The sugar thing is
just a theory. I have read that gagging with hayfever is very common.
So i'm wondering if others have found any trigger foods or any triggers.
The gagging is so sensitive, that even the thought of any of those
foods , the thought of a grain of rice, after I have had them, can set
it off. So I have stopped having them. Hopefully i'll be fine after
the hayfever season ends. It's not hayfever that is affecting me at
the moment though. So i'm starting to wonder..
I have had some old bowels of food in my room ,,long since been
removed. I don't think that's the cause though. But the sight of them
uncovered certainly caused gagging. Didn't have bowels of potatoes
left out though.. So that doesn't explain that.
Months ago I Was eating wholegrain brown rice all the time. No
problems.. Now if I eat it, i'm gagging for days afterwards. Potatoes,
same problem. The only meals I am eating at the moment are nuts and
spaghetti w/tomato sauce, and cauliflower. I may i'start with fish.
This has really restricted my diet big time.
