The reason I'm posting is because of what the ER doctor said to me
last week after the paramedics were called because I had several
seizures. The doctor said if you can remember the event or anything
about it, it was not a "true Seizure", I don't know what he meant but
I'm getting a little scared. They are occurring more then ever before
and now I don't know if I should get into my car. When you have a
seizure, can you remember your body clinching up?
Over the past 3 years I have had some seizures (but) I'm not so
certain they are tonic colonic seizures. I had one yesterday or
something while sitting at my desk.
Went to grab my glass of tea and my muscles tightened up I couldn't
move my head and then both of my hands were holding onto the cup
squeezing it. I then fell to the floor. I don't think I loss conscious
though.
I had 2 TIA's way back about 5 years ago, and wasn't able to feel my
face, couldn't move, talk, but I heard everyone and could see pretty
clear. Had a slight lagging of my left leg after getting out of the
hospital a day later. Then it went away.
I was in the hospital after having a seizure after getting nerves
burnt in my neck about 6 months ago, when they strted me on Topamax. I
ran out of that about 3 mths ago and am currently un insured due being
off campus.
I have only had one EEG /MRI about 4 years ago after a head
concussion, and they only said there wee spike waves in one area,
probably from the past TIA and 2 years ago my pain doc did an MRI and
found a cyst on my pineal gland in my brain. Could this cause
seizures? Sorry if I am asking so many questions. I would ask my
doctor if I could. I can't wait to get insurance again.
I'm so confused. Thanks a lot for any advice.
