Martial Arts

by "cms" <cms763@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jul 23, 2008 at 01:46 AM

Does anyone here train in Martial Arts?

I have always been interested in Martial Arts, and trained in Karate for
about a year, but left due to "fainting spells" and other difficulties
that
I attributed at the time to being out of shape and "a fainter". I know now

that some of these episodes were seizures which caused vertigo, lack of
co-ordination and falling over. I am hoping to go back to martial arts in
some form or another but my seizures are, thus far, untreatable. I have
about 3-5 per week, and they are triggered by overheating and exhaustion
or
extreme exertion, among other things.

I know that some epileptics do some forms of martial arts, since Hugo
Weaving of Matrix fame is epileptic, but he hasn't had a seizure in years,

so obviously his is very treatable. Anyone out there know the skinny on
intractable seizures, martial arts, safety, liability, law, etc. . .?

Thanks,
Colleen
