10 year old experiencing cramping, but no period

by Opal <tmwelton@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Nov 20, 2007 at 06:24 PM

I was wondering if anyone had any advice for me.... My 10 year old
daughter has been experiencing menstrual cramping for the past 3
months but no blood. I have been to see our family doctor and we were
asked to monitor her cramping to see if it was cyclical. It did not
seem to be. I have monitored her diet and cannot find any issues that
have changed. Her bowel movements are normal and regular. We have
gone for a pelvic ultrasound and everything was normal - no cysts were
found. It was noted that her period should begin anytime now.

My cycle began when I was 12. My sister and mother were both 10. My
cycles were very irregular and still are (I'm in my 40s). My sister
was always regular, my mother, not so much. My mother-in-law was also
irregular. Not sure when she started and as she is deceased I cannot
ask her. I suffered from endometriosis when I was younger and had
difficulty getting
pregnant. I want to be able to ask the right questions of my doctor
in order to help my daughter but don't know where to begin.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?
