I had a complete hysterectomy (TAH-BSO) at 48, did not take hormone
replacement because of fears of endo returning. I can relate to your
worries about *** life. I had less interest and also noticed the
absence of the cervix and of uterine contractions during orgasm. By
all means at 30 keep the right ovary. Might you want to try for
another child? For that reason alone I'd keep the uterus rather than
make such a big decision all at once. Don't be scared if you are asked
to sign a consent form for more surgery that you prefer, because some
of this depends on what the doctor sees when he is already into
surgery with you. As for ready to go again, my situation is much
different from yours, but I would caution you especially about lifting
heavy objects, such as children ....<smile>, Adhesions are something
you want to avoid. The rule my doctor gave me was nothing more than a
25 lb. bag of flour, and sup****ted from the bottom. Incidentally, I am
54 now, and my surgery *was* a success in terms of pain relief and of
course the end of the bleeding.

Best of luck to you,
Linda Scheimann
