I know I was still ovulating right before surgery because I could feel
the middle of the month pain. Within a week after surgery, while I was
still in the hospital, I had a couple of full body night sweats where
the nurses actually changed the bed. Later on at home I had hot flashes
primarily at bed time, where I would feel fevered and slightly
nauseous. Looking back, I think I also lost interest in ***, though at
the time I blamed the decline in my partner's health. If there is
something I regret it's not paying attention to that aspect of the
change, because we did end up divorced 3 years after surgery. My doctor
did offer me vaginal estrogenic cream which was topical rather than by
mouth, but I decided not to use anything at all. Today I think I am all
the way through the change, but I still very occasionally get a bout of
sweating that's sudden and heavier than usual.
