Hi,
30 y.o. and have just been diagnosed with severe endometriosis last
Friday. Must say feels rather bleak!
Experienced pain, etc from the get go. However just got used to taking
pain killers and took all the symptoms for normal period pain. Even
after a friend was diagnosed 10 years ago.
Had first laparoscopy a few weeks ago to remove a 4.5cm 'teratoma'
which turned out to be a cyst caused by endometriosis.
Dr wishes to put me on Zoladex pronto before operating again in 5
months and hasn't mentioned anything about medicines to counteract side
effects (as noticed on this group).
Am stressed that wont be able to have children should the op****tunity
present itself and IVF has been suggested already (bad enough that
single!!).
Was supposed to be travelling overseas for extended period but due to
pending Zoladex treatment's side effects plus monthly delivery am
considering delaying trip even though may void work visa that wont be
obtainable again.
(BTW My WA Doc is a good one and has his own private practice for women
only plus I understand there is an endometriosis sup****t group
operating out of his clinic. PS. His wife is also a sufferer.)
Catch,
Simone
