On Friday the County of Ventura District Attorney's office ordered an
arrest warrant for abuse victim, Erin Roberts of Camarillo, for
contempt of court. She failed to show up to a trail against her
alleged abusive ex-boyfriend on September 17th.
The only problem was, the DA failed to send her a subpoena or inform
her any way possible.
She was unlawfully arrested at her home in front of her mother and
autistic child and driven to Ventura County Jail. She was held there
for 10 hours and released on her Own Recognizance. Can you say false
imprisonment?
Erin is a single mother of two autistic children, a board member of
Kiwanis and has never committed a crime in her life. The day before
her arrest she was delivering meals to seniors for Meals on Wheels.
We think the public should know about this please call the Ventura
County Star or any other news agency and let them know what an outrage
it is when victims get victimized again by the people that are
supposed to help them.
