Hi, my name's Claire
I'm a registered mental health nurse and work on an acute psychiatric
ward. I'm studying part-time for a masters degree, and part of this
involves completing a research project on a topic of interest.
I recently attended a talk given by a carer about her experience of in-
patient services which was both moving and thought provoking. It got
me thinking about things from the perspective of carers and encouraged
me to study carer involvement and participation within acute in-
patient hospitals and I am inviting you to take part in my research .
I am interested to know:
Did YOU feel involved in the admission/treatment/discharge process?
What do YOU feel helped or hindered your involvement in your loved
ones care?
What level of involvement would YOU like to have and in what ways can
your experience of in-patient settings be improved?
Taking part invovles an informal interview (chat) with myself by
either e-mail, MSN Messenger or ICQ. It will last no longer than 30-60
minutes. I am interested to hear YOUR EXPERIENCE.
I hope that the results from my study will go some way to helping
improve the way that health professionals work with carers. It is your
chance to have your voice heard.
