Yes, orange juice contains a lot of sugar, and when people squeezed 
their own, an ordinary serving size was much smaller than a cup, usually 
about three or four fluid ounces.

Taking it on an empty stomach, even at the beginning of a meal, causes a 
quick release of insulin and cortisol, which is problematic in a number 
of ways.  Beginning meals with sugar is a good habit to break.
