paleo diet

by downeygodd@[EMAIL PROTECTED] Oct 30, 2007 at 02:23 PM

I have always battled with weight issues, although I am currently
healthy and strong. Now at 44 years of age, I have realized it is
time to lose the weight and help position myself for longevity. I
started this year on a pseudo-vegetarian diet (that included fish and
very small amounts of poultry). In 9 months, I lost 35 pounds (about
a pound a week). But I didn't feel very good and I had no energy or
ambition to go to the gym.

4 weeks ago I found information about the paleolithic diet on the
internet. Since then I have tried to eat a paleolithic diet. I find
it to be a fairly easy diet to follow when I cook at home, but
incredibly difficult to follow when I'm travelling (and I travel a lot
for work). Still, in 4 weeks period of time, I have lost 16 pounds (4
pounds a week) and I feel great. I have so much energy and I can't
wait to get to the gym in the morning.

I would love to see a paleo movement - although it will probably have
to be called by a different name - explode in North America. Maybe
someday there will be restaurants which cater to our diet.

I believe that if someone actually puts the effort into trying this
diet over the course of a few weeks, he or she will become a
convert.

I feel as if I have discovered an incredible secret. I feel so
fortunate.
