Effect of a Mediterranean-Style Diet on Endothelial
Dysfunction-Analysis of Data by an expert, namely moi!
http://jama.ama-assn.org/cgi/content/full/292/12/1440#SEC1
Here we see, one high-carb diet being compared to another high-carb
diet. Since 50 persons on intervention diet and even 12 on the control
high-carb diet were cured of their Syndrome-X, we can see right away
that a high-carb diet has absolutely nothing to do with Syndrome-X. We
are talking 57 to 58 percent carbohydrates, 14% protein, and 28 to 30%
fat.
The key to the proper analysis of the data can be found in table 2,
under the '2 Years' columns.
The intervention diet is the diet that got the great results.
The intervention diet had nearly twice the amount of the following
items as found in the control diet.
-Fiber
-Omega-3 EFAs
-Olive Oil
-Fruits, Vegetables, nuts & legumes
-Whole Grains
Also 30% more MUFAs, and 8% more PUFAs.
The intervention diet also had less of the following items than the
control diet did.
-Saturated Fat (42.5% less)
-Omega-6 EFAs (40% less)
Also notice the clear im****tance of Whole-grains. They are disclosed
on their own separate row; unlike Fruits, Vegetables, nuts & legumes.
Like it or not, believe it or not; the differences in these items
resulted in 55.5% of the intervention diet patients being cured of
their Syndrome-X in only 2 years.
