Guy, we all came here for our own reasons; some, or even
most, were not the same as yours.
The group has not failed.
It gets more spam and kooks, but so does every other
unmoderated group on usenet. Believe me - I'm on ten; many
have only a dozen real posts a day. ASD and MHD are highly
active and useful compared to the vast majority.
Here are the actual numbers.
ASD:

and yes, MHD is slowly dying:

Bleats and moans are hardly likely to improve that. Good
sup****tive or scientific posts will.
We get fewer real contributors than we used to. Again, that
is true of usenet generally because the web has overtaken
it, with a multitude of forums, message boards, blogs and
health web-sites. I am on many of those too, but I still
come back here to argue with people whose opinions and
knowledge I respect.
I find it worth-while to wade through the rubbish to find
the good stuff. I always have on these groups.
Unfortunately, your posts are slowly moving from those that
I used to read daily to those that I wade through; please
stop the moaning posts and keep writing the good and
relevant ones, as you did in other threads today.
Cheers, Alan, T2, Australia.
