OT - Olympic TV coverage

This years 100% HDTV coverage had some fantastic moments, but I consider
the 
Olympic coverage very poor. They only showed part of the events. I got so 
tired of seeing preliminary heat after preliminary heat of swimming,
diving, 
volley ball, and track that I got in the habbit of recording and then 
scanning for the shows.

Where was the coverage of Discus, Hammer Throw, Javelin, Shot Put, High 
Jump, Pole Vault, Long Jump, Triple Jump etc. etc.?

The last Olympics that had a good comprehensive TV coverage was the Mexico

City Olympics in 1968. (IMHO)
