How do you know it's remission?

by "Mr S" <max@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jun 19, 2008 at 10:30 PM

I had been diagnosed with UC.December 2007.
I was on colozide. It worked but initially produced constipation.

I thought that they were giving me stomach problems. So I stopped.

I don't have the urgency to go to the toilet.
I am quite solid.
But I pass wind (usually smelly). Not continuously! but often during the
day.

How do I know the UC is in remission . (My definition is no diarrhoea)

PS. Prior to being diagnosed I was passing wind and going to the bathroom
often (twice a day). But not urgent. After I caught an intestinal bug that
was going around in my family. I caouldn't stop going to the toilet.
That's
the reason I got checked out.

Thanks?
