enough about this issue to want to prevent other people from falling

of scientific evidence to sup****t the powerfully addictive properties of
benzodiazepines, and a significant ****tion of the medical establishment
that agrees that these drugs should be used only on a short-term basis.

Ah, the *Anti Benzo Squad* is on the war path again.
I can produce dozens of studies proving the opposite of their claims.
One wonders what makes these people tick.
First read up on *addiction vs dependence*. Addiction to benzos is
extremely rare among anxiety/panic folk. Most of the time we keep our
dose steady over years or diminish it. Of course stopping a benzo, like
stopping an SSRI, is associated with withdrawal symptoms because our
systems become dependent on these meds in much the same way they do on
insulin for diabetics or on meds for high PD or whatever may be
*needed*. Still many manage to taper down succesfully although others
will have to be on drugs for the rest of their lives which beats sitting
in a corner of the room trembling with anxiety.
As a matter of fact enzos are very well researched and are generally
speaking among the safest meds around. They're certainly safer than
SSRI's/SNRI's and the like which are handed out like candy by
benzophobic doctors who didn't do their homework.
