Initially, during my first trial with Mesalamine 500 mg supp, 2x day I
had no problem. It worked well. The second and subsequent trials were
different. Initially, everything was fine until after the 2nd or
third day. I would wake up in the middle of the night with major
abdominal pains/cramps. It's was awful.
Although Mesalamine has been suggested that it *may* lower the risk of
colorectal cancer by reducing the inflammation, I was also told that
it may cause some other type of cancer. If true, it's damn if you do,
damn if you don't.
